The high rolling speed and the configuration in the pressure creates pressure at the center of the web and creates a pipe bore by piercing with a pointed rod. This sleeve is then extended with a mandrel or elongate rod in a multiple rolling mill, placed into the pipe to achieve the desired wall thickness and diameter range.
